다코타의 블랙 마운틴 언덕 어느메에 라키 라쿤이란 이름의 어린 소년이 살았어

그러던 어느날 라키는 마을로 내려와
중심가 호텔에 방을 하나 잡았지
라키가 굳이 체크인을 했던 건
기드온 협회에서 호텔에 보급한 성경을 찾으려는 이유였어
라키는 원수 놈을 만나면 다리를 아작내리라 결심하며 총을 집어들었어
너무나 사랑하던 소녀를 도둑 맞았으니 그에겐 더이상 꿈이 없었어
그녀의 이름은 매길이었지만 그녀는 자신을 릴이라고 불렀지
하지만 남들은 다 그녀를 낸시로 알고 있었어
그녀와, 자신을 댄이라 부르던 그녀의 연인은
옆 방에서 재미를 보고 있었지
라키는 문을 박차고 들어가 조소를 띠며 말했어
대니 보이, 결전의 시간이 왔다
그러나 흥분한 다니엘은 먼저 라키를 쏴버렸고
라키는 방구석에 쓰러져 버렸지
눈을 떠보니 술에 절은 의사가 어슬렁거리다 테이블에 드러누우려는 참이었어
그러면서 하는 말이,

선생,  그냥 스크래치 좀 난 거 갖고 호들갑은..

그러나 기드온은 체크아웃을 하고 나갔는지 보이질 않더군
아마도 착한 라키의 부활을 도우려 떠나신 게지






Now somewhere in the black moutain hills of Dakota
There lived a young boy named Rocky Raccoon.
And one day his woman ran off with another guy.
Hit young Rocky in the eye Rocky didn’t like that.
He said I’m gonna get that boy.
So one day he walked in to town
Booked himself a room in the local saloon.
Rocky Raccoon checked into his room
Only to find Gideon’s Bible.
Rocky had come equipped with a gun
To shoot off the legs of his rival.
His rival it seems had broken his dreams
By stealing the girl of his fancy.
Her name was Magill and she called herself Lill
But everyone knew her as Nancy.
Now she and her man who called himself Dan
Were in the next room at the hoe down.
Rocky bust in and grinning a grin.
He said Danny boy this is a showdown
But Daniel was hot ? he drew first and shot
And Rocky collapsed in the corner.
Now the doctor came in stinking of gin
And proceeded to lie on the table.
He said Rocky you met your match.
And Rocky said, Doc it’s only a scratch
And I’ll be better, I’ll be better doc as soon as I am able.
Now Rocky Raccoon he fell back in his room
Only to find Gideon’s Bible.
Gideon checked out and he left in no doubt
To help with good Rocky’s revival.
