진흙 투성이가 된 강아지가
너네 엄마 옷자락을 물어 당겨 이리로 끌고 오고 있단 말이야
잿더미와 연기 속에서
지하실의 뱀은 로뎀나무 아래로 자릴 옮겼어
농장은 온통 불바다야

내 손을 잡아
오늘밤 네가 원하는 거라면 뭐든지
저 불길처럼 높고 빠르게

잿더미와 연기 속에서
나무들은 마치 무언갈 속삭이는 것 같아
로뎀나무는 네게 할 말이라도 있다는 듯
그 중에서도 제일 요란스러운데

너네 엄마도, 불을 끄러온 사람들도 모두 취해 있고
너네 아빠는 사진을 찍어대는데
희뿌연 잿더미 속에서
검댕이 묻은 입으로 너는 내게 속삭이겠지
"비가 오라고 기도해줘
그래서 이 불이 다 꺼지면
다시 한 번 모조리 불 질러줘"
